Quirky, sympathetic and original
Following no trends
The old kitchen was a mess and was falling apart – gaps were stuffed with cardboard, bits of wood and whole a lot of old food. We need to remove the old decaying kitchen and replace with brand new cabinetry in a social layout, yet still sympathetic to the 1930s architecture.
I didn’t want to follow the trend of the big single space, kitchen island and bi-folds to the garden. I wanted something quirky, sympathetic to the original 1930s house and flexible enough to add my own touches. The space also had to work practically for my family – with shared meal-times, homework and hustle and bustle.
Design, renovate & inspire
I was captivated by Invisible Green by the Little Greene Paint Company, so I knew I wanted coloured units. The foxed mirrored glass felt a bit of a risk given its size, but it works really well to reflect light from the Velux’s onto the gorgeous accessories in the room.
We worked really closely with Optiplan Kitchens, who created and designed our kitchen. I hate surprises when it comes to money, so we laid our cards down early on and everything was super straight-forward. On top of this we had costs of renovating a space that hadn’t been touched in more than a decade, so there was a lot of building work and decorating to do ourselves.
Our hassle-free installation is simple; we will remove your old kitchen replacing it with your brand-new Optiplan Kitchen (including all the little touches and bits in-between).
An experienced project manager will assigned to your project team and will oversee the whole process to ensure you receive customer service and attention to detail you should expect with an Optiplan Kitchen.
