Last year we introduced a series of new finishes across our contemporary and classic kitchen ranges, responding to increasing interest from our customers for brighter kitchen interior schemes since the pandemic.
As the trends continue to move away from monochrome interior design, and towards an injection of personality and colour, our new kitchen colours now mean homeowners can brighten up their kitchen space whilst simultaneously ensuring their interiors scheme remains timeless and trendy.
The image opposite displays Optiplan’s new Evening Claret finish, on a classic Dorchester kitchen range. This showcases perfectly how multiple colours can be utilised in one kitchen space – creating different zones or focal points, to draw attention to a particular area: in this case, the impressive central kitchen island, standing out against the neutral grey backdrop of the surrounding units.
An uplifting and vibrant colour that is designed to make a statement and enhance your mood, Optiplan’s Evening Claret offers a beautiful warm and rich tone. It pairs beautifully with neutral tones (pictured: Canvass Grey) for a stylish and chic design, but the design possibilities don’t end there. It can also be paired with any of Optiplan’s other new finishes – such as Olivine – for a classy and colourful dual-tone kitchen.

Andy Briggs, Optiplan Kitchens Interior Designer said: “Our new colour finishes were selected to offer homeowners a breadth of different colour types. Within each colour group, we have different shades which enable people to go for either a bold, bright or calming colour. For example, within our new blues – we have a deep indigo blue or marine, bold twilight and lighter blue mist.
“We wanted to incorporate a number of stand-out, unique colour finishes – such as the Evening Claret and Mustard, to provide homeowners who love colour a wide variety of choice, and we also included a number of new blues and greens, as these colours have continued to dominate kitchen interiors over the past couple of years. The calm, sophisticated, timeless colours can be used on their own, without being overbearing, but can also be used on a kitchen island to complement a neutral kitchen –for those who aren’t quite ready to commit to a really colourful kitchen.”
